Synopsis
The brilliant but emotionally reserved Caro Drake comes to Oxford with the sole purpose of getting a doctorate, but through a stormy friendship with a charming young man, she begins to discover secrets, vulnerabilities and love. Carolyn Weber, the author of the book, whose biographical novel became the basis of the film, attended the screening together with actress Rose Reid, who played Caro Drake in the film, and other members of the film crew.
In the center of attention of the book was the appeal of the author
Fisher (1951 recording). After reading the book, I was disappointed that the film is more about love than about how the author turned to faith.
The love story was secondary
I felt that the story of the conversion in the film is almost absent, and it felt like they were actually trying to tone it down. The acting was very good and it was great to see some of my favorite British actors.
The cinematography and scenery were beautiful, as was the music
This should have been a love story for Jesus, not for TDH. It was almost incomprehensible what the film was trying to convey compared to the clear message of the book.
